On Monday January 18, Potomac Appalachian Trail Club will join in the National Day of Service commemorating Martin Luther King Jr. Day with a Trail Clean-up day.
The current Covid-19 regulations prevent us from hosting a large centrally organized cleanup, so we are promoting self-guided Trail Cleanup days with your families or friends picking your favorite park, trail or even your own neighborhood to help pick up trash.
For your safety and that of your neighbors, please wear facial masks, especially within 6 feet of others from outside of your household. Other items you might want to bring along include: reusable buckets or trash bags, disposable gloves, litter grabbers, bug spray, closed-toe shoes, water and snacks.
After you have completed your self-guided trail clean up, don’t forget to take a selfie with the trash you have collected and post on our social media accounts with the following #hashtags: #Nationaldayofservice2021 #trailcleanup #PATC
Please remember to wear a mask and practice social distancing!
