AT Work Trip for February 4, 2023


Work Trip CANCELLED owing to forecast zero-degree wind chills


Date:  February 4, 2023

Location:  Parking lot at US 30 & PA 233

GPS:   39.90676  -77.47821

Goals:  1. Trails - blowdown removal

             2. Gypsy Spring Cabin - cut & split firewood, clean up grounds
Tools Needed: Chainsaws, hand saws, loppers, splitting axes/mauls, log peavey/jacks, fire rakes
Other:  Hi-vis orange attire, work gloves, sturdy shoes, helmet, safety glasses, water, and lunch.
Note:  Following the worktrip, we'll head over to PATC Gypsy Spring Cabin (GPS 39.97881  -77.39772) for some of Esther's cooking.  Gypsy Spring Cabin will be available for lodging on both Friday (02.03.23) and Saturday (02.04.23) nights.

Let me know your intentions on or before Wednesday, February 1, 2023:

3. Overnight lodging at Gypsy Spring Cabin.

Tuscarora Trail Work Trip for January 21, 2023


Date:  January 21, 2023

Time:  9:00 am

Location:  Address:  Mountain House Bar/Grill, Rte 30, top of Tuscarora summit

GPS:  

Goals: If enough folks two groups to work the section, Lincoln Trail to Rte 16. Due to the ice damage expect a lot of work to be done. One starting at Rt 16, the other at Lincoln Trail

Tools Needed: Chainsaws (certified sawyers only), weedwhackers need 2+, saws, loppers


It's highly recommended that you bring the following: work gloves, sturdy shoes, sunscreen, bug repellent, safety glasses, plenty of water, and lunch.

Other:  Hi-vis orange attire, work gloves, sturdy shoes, helmet, safety glasses, water, and lunch.
